Institutional Ministries
WELCOME, Prison Ministry Friends and Family!
We look forward to working together in shining the light of Jesus' love! Please see the boxes below to learn more about Institutional Ministries.
You may be wondering: “What happened? Why are you merging?”
The idea is that by putting all prison work resources under one organization, we can be more productive, harness our collective resources, and have a better workflow.
Institutional Ministries was founded to meet the spiritual needs of those who were institutionalized, particularly those who were unchurched. Today, we have four pillars of ministry that we serve: Correctional Care, Health Care, Extended Care, and Caring Support.
“I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 (EHV)
Moving Forward, Together
The wonderful work of Prison Ministry will continue! While it will no longer be overseen by WELS Special Ministries, Institutional Ministries will now lovingly carry forward the programs you know and cherish:
- Pen-Pal Ministry
- Booklet Ministry
- Mentor Training
These ministries will remain active and continue to share Christ’s love with those who need it most. We invite you to keep supporting this important work—through your prayers, your time, and your gifts—just as you faithfully supported WELS Prison Ministry.
