God & Grub
God & Grub has moved from Salem East, to Divinity-Divine Charity (900 E Henry Clay St., Whitefish Bay), and has made a few changes to better serve ex-offenders and their families.
God & Grub has historically been a one day a week aftercare ministry, offering a Bible study and meal to Jesus’ "other sheep". Since our move, we have expanded the ministry to six sessions per week (four daytime sessions and two evening sessions). We offer Anger Management and Relationship classes on Tuesday mornings and evenings, 12 Step Spiritual Recovery classes on Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings, a Life Skills classes on Thursday mornings, and finally, a Saturday session of doctrinal studies based on various parts of Scripture. All of the morning classes begin at 10:00, and are followed by a lunch at noon. The evening classes begin at 5:30 and are followed by dinner. There is also time slotted for one on one counseling as well.
Midnight Ministry is also located at Divinity Divine Charity, with a food and clothing pantry, as well as "backpacks" for newly released ex-offenders. Each backpack contains a variety of hygiene supplies, emergency food and water rations, as well as a Bible and copies of Meditations. We are also offering a computer lab to assist with creating job resumes, housing searches and learning basic computer skills. Our classes are open to anyone: church members, community neighbors and ex-offenders. We also celebrate Holy Communion once a month (for those affiliated with the WELS), during our Saturday session.
God & Grub is supported only by personal financial gifts and donations of non perishable food items, clothing and prepared dinners. One-time and monthly (monetary) gifts can be given on our "Make a Donation" page using a credit card, checking or savings account. Please mark your gift as "other" and type in "God & Grub."
